What is the metaverse?
The metaverse consists of virtual parallel worlds that cooperate with other such worlds to make the Internet interactive and experienceable. It is seen by many as the successor to today’s mobile Internet, the bridge to the invisible world. It allows people to communicate directly and to visualise what could scarcely be imagined up to now. It will fundamentally change people's behaviour in how all of us socialise, play and transact.
It also has the potential to become the greatest business opportunity of our generation: Citi estimates that total revenues could reach 13 trillion dollars by 2030. By uniting the real and virtual worlds, it will bring about a paradigm shift in the next decade.

Kuble launched the Metaverse Academy in April 2022 (more information here). Just two months later, the success of the first two courses, “Relationship Economy and Metaverse” and “Web3 and Metaverse Strategist”, indicates that these precisely address the enormous demand for knowledge and exchange regarding virtual, perceptible and interactive parallel worlds – a virtual educational institution developed around the concept of an immersive, campus-like community to foster knowledge concerning the metaverse, Web3 and NFTs. The curriculum, which will be further expanded and constantly adjusted, follows a clear vision:

The Metaverse Academy’s leadership consists of world-class, multi-disciplinary faculty members with a strong alumni network already known to us at leading real-world universities.
Kuble will be guided henceforth in this effort by Dr. Martha Boeckenfeld, recently appointed Partner and Dean of Metaverse Academy. In this role, she will oversee the curriculum and faculty for the digital academic campus and will herself serve as an instructor in the program. She has over 20 years’ experience in the financial sector, most recently at UBS, where her portfolio included digital platforms and ecosystems. She is a visionary with a passion for technology, blockchain and the metaverse, and is firmly convinced that the key factors in dynamically driving digital transformation are the mindset of digital leadership and the innovative power to develop and implement future-oriented concepts.
Joining the Metaverse Academy and sharing the vision, Martha Boeckenfeld elaborates: “While there has been considerable hype over the term ‘metaverse’, most people cannot explain what the metaverse is or what the business opportunities would be for their company or for themselves as individuals in the Web 3.0 Age. And yet the need for metaverse experts is undergoing phenomenal growth. The reality is that there are not enough metaverse experts to fill these new roles. Up to this point, the concept of the Metaverse Academy has been unparalleled elsewhere in the world, and as the pioneer, the Kuble team has already laid a solid foundation. I am elated to be working with the team and the faculty to promote a ‘metaverse education for everyone, everywhere’.”
Kuble founder and partner Gustavo Salami, who developed the concept of the Metaverse Academy, is also looking ahead: “With her professional background and as a person, Martha is the perfect hire for the Dean’s role. She is a Thought Leader, who is passionate about Tech, Blockchain and the Metaverse, and strongly believes that the key factors for dynamically driving digital transformation are the mindset of digital leaders and the power of innovation to develop and execute forward-thinking concepts.
Dr. Boeckenfeld has more than over 20 years of experience and international exposure (Asia, Europe, Switzerland) as Financial Service Executive and Non-Executive in Institutions, such as UBS, Unicredit, Generali, Kleinwort Benson and Axa.
She has several Advisory Mandates, including GenTwo/AssetRush. She is also an Ambassador for AllStarsWomen NFT Club and DAO, a metaverse woman network of founders, entrepreneurs and investors and Beyond Gender Agenda which seeks to improve the long-term international competitiveness of the German economy by integrating Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) into the DNA of listed and medium-sized companies.
